> Why do the agencies, beside BLM, have a need for 1373 land surveyors when they do not have authority to survey land anyway?

So no other entity beside the BLM have the authority to perform topographic surveys, platting/staking title or interest of others, establish/re-establish corner locations, mapping lease areas, mapping boundaries & improvements etc..? What about reviewing surveys of adjoining lands, performing construction staking, or setting control?

I would assume the Fish and Wildlife want to ensure their interests are protected and what better way to do that than having an LS on staff.

If any or all of those activities require a 1373 land surveyor and requires a product of a survey plat, then BLM is the Federal land surveyor.

I guess what I mean is, do those activities require a licensed land surveyor?
