One of the two guys that taught me to survey on the ice, Charles Swithinbank, was the surveyor for 2 year Antarctic exploration in the late 40's.?ÿ He had a photo of him behind the instrument.?ÿ I just looked like a pile of furs.?ÿ At one point he had became the head of the Scott Polar Research and Dean of Glaciology at Cambridge.
