when you cant wait for the sun to come up and get going on a Saturday.
The ATV's are gassed up, the water can is filled, a bag of venison jerky is packed and 1500 acres of beautiful Texas Hill Country is in front of us.
A little cool this morning but warming to the mid 70's.
The best thing is that this job is 10 minutes from the house, we will drive the ATV's to the job site and back.
Just need that sun to come up.
And I get paid to do this stuff!!!
Randy
Go get em Randy!:good:
Forecast, cloudy with scattered flurries. Highs in the upper 20s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Wind chill 15°, currently, but still going to do it, any way.
I can be there in about 6 hours to help you finish it up, can you save some of that jerky?????
Sounds like a good day! Nothing like getting paid to do what you love.
You can forget about the water can. It's 21, feels like 16. Better put some anti-freeze in that water can if working here.
I'm headed to the car wash in a bit with a jar full of quarters. Need to do a super cleanup on my cattle trailer. Gotta love it.
Just left Alaska on R and R where it was -30 with -52 windchill... our cut off for work.... there is none (although it use to be -40. // Min. Temp worked in -52 with -72 Windchill.....
For those calling "BS". Leica total stations with on board heater works about 20min. before we bring them into the heat for 45min. and Gps will last about the same, depending on data collector screen and batteries (TSC2). RTK Base will run all day when properly powered.
All this being said. Yes the integrity of the survey is at stake as things get colder, but any conscientious Instrument man will be checking and checking again (heat to cold transference). Hard dollar jobs these are NOT and just showing up on the site and getting something done is better than nothing, so I have heard.
I LOVE my JOB!!!! I LOVE MY JOB!!!
shot a few years ago standing on the ocean beside man made island....
are these Buffin boots that you are wearing on this picture (black with yellow strip) ? I have a pair, they were great for working in Canada at -30C -40C
