You still have Bobplumb.com surveying fourm board T-shirt from 25 years ago.?ÿ ?ÿAnd you still wear it.

My, oh my.?ÿ All I have to do is look in the mirror and see an older version of my father.?ÿ I am now about a year older than he was when he died.
I was chatting with the local billionaire yesterday in his office after dropping off a couple simple plats and discussing three other projects.?ÿ There was a short time when it was just the two of us as the young bucks (40's to mid 50's) were sent off to acquire some data we needed.?ÿ He is ten years older than me at 78.?ÿ We grew up about a dozen miles apart.?ÿ He was guiding me on how to get to a certain project and said, "Well, if you were at the Knotty Pine, you would go to the first corner east then drive south until you could go no further."?ÿ My immediate response was, "You've got to find one of us old-timers to even remember the Knotty Pine."?ÿ This turned into reminiscing about that beer joint on the "other side of the tracks" that burned down sometime about 50 years ago while I was in college.?ÿ Among the memories shared was my story of the day about a half dozen of us high school boys (legal age for 3.2 beer was 18 at that time) showed up in the parking lot in my car.?ÿ The first three out of the car hurried in ahead of the rest of us but came back out about 15 seconds later.?ÿ The manager told them to go back outside and leave their FFA jackets out there.?ÿ One of the other guys then removed his jacket, too.?ÿ I wasn't in that organization, so I walked right in.?ÿ A pack of 16 year-olds.
For those not from rural America, FFA is short for Future Farmers of America.?ÿ The jacket is a really big deal to that organization.?ÿ I avoided the ag classes and FFA as I was definitely NOT going to be a farmer.
Bob Plumb is a great user name. Sorry.
