One major oversight that rose to the top in the past was that it being a fact that the State BOR has the right to create standards of practice and test the applicants in order to license those they find worthy, it was an awakening that they had not empowered the BOR or any other agency with the right or ability to carry out any action against those that violate those rules.
In small steps that is being attended to. Still there is a long path between offense and any effective result.
The best effective action appears to be when surveyors point out to one another and the public the responsibility of the provider of surveying services and the liability incurred by anyone that makes use of those products in or outside their true purpose.

I have a question for you:
How will you respond when someone comes to you and says: I relied on your information and it was wrong. I incurred damages, who will reimburse me?

I suppose; do you really think that will stop someone from suing you?
Let me rephrase my question:
What will you say when someone sues you?
(b) Performing geodetic surveying which includes surveying for determination of the size and shape of the earth utilizing angular and linear measurements through spatially oriented spherical geometry;
> (b) Performing geodetic surveying which includes surveying for determination of the size and shape of the earth utilizing angular and linear measurements through spatially oriented spherical geometry;
So the service Joseph provides is "surveying for determination of the size and shape of the earth utilizing angular and linear measurements through spatially oriented spherical geometry"? Are you serious? :-S

Here is a better question;
Do you think it is okay to provide a professional service when you are not a professional?
