Sadly I've seen people fight and sue over inches rather than feet.

Most of the disputes I've been involved in, the land being fought over was pointless/useless. The individuals had just decided that they were going to fight about something and the land boundary was low-hanging fruit.

Most of my subdivision work has been relegated to surveying/staking/platting new ones, I'm sure there are a lot of valid boundary concerns in some of the "80's boom" subdivisions.
