1.) Because I tried a sun shot one time, and tried it again on the same job, a week later, and it was off about a degree. So, since those don't work, nobody can accurately report a true bearing.

2.) Because I tried the Altitude Method, and it was better, but I could never get it closer than a few minutes, between observations.

3.) Nobody can observe a moving object in the sky, and accurately determine North. Better to use the deed. It is OF RECORD.

4.) GPS? Say, do you know how one of those things work?

5.) I thought about RTK one time, but I also heard they were nogood in trees, and there are trees all over this part of the country. Leave them for Oklahoma, and Texas. I guess BIG SKY country too.

6.) My compass does not need batteries.

North, Who cares?. IT's the angles that matter.

And that is the end of it!

Now, go away, and leave me alone!

Satirically yours,

Nate

Thanks, Nate.

Got that cleared up, now I can breathe easier, knowing it really doesn't matter. And I have been trying so hard!

Personally I like to just give my TS a good spin, zeroe and begin. Some times I skip the zeroe part, just to keep it interesting.
