Where do you carry your field book?`

I put those in the raw data file as a comment instead so I don't have to stop and get the book out. However, I forgo the editorial comments in the interest of brevity; my raw data entry would simply read "PT58 HR 4.84".

Yeah, I don't editorialize myself either, may think it, don't bother writing it 🙂

Depends, have carried it in a backpack, tucked in the small of my back. hand, vest pocket but the field book probably spent more time tucked into my left armpit with the page marked with a pencil.

I don't wear survey vests...all that crap hanging off my shoulders gets in the way of my agility...but I do wear a radio chest harness most times and keep it there. Some contracts we do like DOT for instance requires field books of a much greater width that just wont fit anywhere...I believe they might think wider book means more information..
