Not the weirdest job, but certainly not something I do all the time - leveling a pool table...1st we thought of machinist level...wait, we have something a bit more precise 🙂

I surveyed a Dozer that rolled twice. The operator was very lucky to survive. 1st roll 40% chance of fatal, 2nd is 70%, 3rd is 95%. This accident will probably result in all operators being required to wear air conditioned helmets like NASCAR.

I was surprised how well the dents left in the ground by the Dozer showed up in the point clouds. We had them flagged and located with RTK so I could find them easier.

Hey Kent...I see the Rover, but...

Where's the radio for the RTK?

All of the 300 or so marks positioned by that survey had uncertainties of about +/5mm (s.e.) with respect to the local segment of the CORS network, so obviously RTK wasn't used. I was following some RTK work that had busts of more than 3 ft. in the positions of monuments, though. Does that count? 🙂
