Not the weirdest job, but certainly not something I do all the time - leveling a pool table...1st we thought of machinist level...wait, we have something a bit more precise 🙂

I surveyed a Dozer that rolled twice. The operator was very lucky to survive. 1st roll 40% chance of fatal, 2nd is 70%, 3rd is 95%. This accident will probably result in all operators being required to wear air conditioned helmets like NASCAR.

I was surprised how well the dents left in the ground by the Dozer showed up in the point clouds. We had them flagged and located with RTK so I could find them easier.

All of the 300 or so marks positioned by that survey had uncertainties of about +/5mm (s.e.) with respect to the local segment of the CORS network, so obviously RTK wasn't used. I was following some RTK work that had busts of more than 3 ft. in the positions of monuments, though. Does that count? 🙂
