Schonstedt with the optional "Stone with 'X'" module installed...

Seriously, though, I'd have to say our current Leica TS15, 3" total station ranks right at the top. Second would be our now-gone TCRP1203 instrument.

I've been most pleased with the Leica total stations; consistently excellent results.

For the challenge and fun in the field was a 20" K&E Paragon transit.

For accuracy and precision that would be Kern 1" theodolite with scope attached EDM and dome tripods.

For production, reliability and battery life , price point etc, Topcon 3" TSs

My favorite instrument?

Can I plead the 5th amendment?

I guess the Suunto KB-14 comes in second though!

At the moment it looks like Wild T-1 and Wild T-2 are the most popular surveying instruments.

Really?

What's the count in this thread for mentions of T-1 vs T-2 vs the 1200 series instruments?

I have had many s6's over the years and now I have the company's latest investment the s6 with vision this leaves me with a question that I think I know the answer to. Did trimble remove the guidelights because of the camera?

I just scanned 2.8 miles of road in different locations in less than an hour.

A couple of weeks ago I did about 230 miles of scanning in about 3 days.
We have a Leica Pegasus 2 🙂

All time is a topcon 312. For production, I honestly dont know what can beat an S6. We got solo crews that drive 2 hours each way to a job and get 800-1000 shots.

What a joy using the GTS-3B was. But when we got the first topcons with the edm built in was my favorite even though we still pulled the chain for short stuff. And the SMI Construction V was the best for laying out road projects. I do like the S-6 now a days.
