I asked after a graveside service one time, and the grave digger/filler guy told me they just dig 6 ft to put down the bottom of the concrete vault. So you're not really 6 ft under, and the vault keeps you from pushing up daisies. So much for old sayings.

(That also attracted hummingbird)

Use to mark shifting lines while training soccer goalkeepers to demonstrate various angles so they have a comprehension of how, when and where to come off their 'line'

We have many of what are known as "individual mausoleums". The top of the casket is barely below ground level so the total depth is more like three feet or so. A concrete box is placed perfectly such that when the coffin is inserted and the top (lid) of the mausoleum is installed there will be a waterproof seal made between the box and lid. The lid is the only thing visible above ground. Some are concrete, some are marble. They can be inexpensive or they can be VERY expensive. The more elaborate ones of marble appear to be six to eight inches thick and flat on top. The concrete ones tend to have a curved surface for moisture drainage.

You can fashion it into a beverage holder. A gift from PSLS 2015 Surveyor of the Year. (The beverage holder, not the can)
