I just purchsed Brown's 3rd edition, was that a bad choice? Could not find 1st or second editions.

The 1st edition is rare, and therefore expensive.
I usually recommend the 2nd edition because it was very common - it was in print for 17 years - and therefore quite cheap. One used to be able to pick them up for $2 plus $4 shipping. It seems like - maybe - my promoting them here has created a demand. Now ilibris.com is nearly sold out of them and asking a pretty penny for those it has.?ÿ
I'm sure that your 3rd edition will be just fine.?ÿ The premise is that the earlier editions deal with basic principles and as they go through each revision more and more exceptions to the common principles are introduced.?ÿ?ÿ
