I love this

I call them hand tillers.

Have about 5 different versions that include:
hoe
axe
spade
fork
pike
shovel
and
extension handle (from 28in to 44in)

Brush hook first, machete second. It's just plain fun to knock out trees with one swing of that monster. Definitely not the best in tight spaces, though.
Always carry a couple lathes in cattle fields, too. Smacking them together usually shies away pissed-off critters.
