I understand it requires the part to be replaced.

When I bought my GPT3005LW I wanted to have the screw moved from the objective side to the eye side. At first they thought they could just turn it around but then they found out they would have to order a part. I was busy back then so I said I would just get used to it.

It is a little weird at first but I'm used to it now. It is supposed to be that way so you can operate both screws with one hand. I will say if it was on the eye side it would be right up against my cheek which isn't real convenient either.

It is a small instrument so wherever you put it it's going to be somewhat awkward.
