Here is a quick reference site for looking up specific USGS 7.5-minute quad sheets by state.

Lots of NGS tools all in one place. There are also mobile versions of some of the tools, and others that will work inyour browser with the google earth extension.
Lots of nice free toys to play with, and also useful for work.
