Most of my work is solo RTK. Lately, I have found myself doing about two or three days of total station work a month requiring part-time help. I started looking at robots this spring and watched a couple of GPT-9005s go on ebay today. Are the prices below reflective of the current market?

#1 Sold for $5300 w/ FC-200 w/RS-1, RC-3, & prisim

#2 Sold for $3700 w/ a Fantam Bluetooth, RC-3, & prisim

Thanks,

Steve

Hi, I have to warn you/everyone about the scams on ebay, I tried to buy two robots from two separate seller and they were both scams, please be very careful and look at the sellers closly. and it took about a month to get my $9000 back, and if you don't act promptly and follow there rules you will loose your money, I hope this helps, oh and to answer your question, no you cannot but the gpt 9000's for $5k those are scams for sure, trust me I know the hard way, gl

Certainly there are scams on ebay, but with a little judicious investigation you can avoid them. Consider the location of the item (stick with U.S. sellers to be safe, though honest foreign sellers can be identified if you're willing to do your homework), and look at the feedback (in general you want to see ample positive feedback for similar items). When in doubt, communicate with the seller to get more information on his situation. Finally, make sure that ebay's guarantee policy doesn't exclude the item you're bidding on.

Remember, too, that an absence of feedback isn't necessarily a bar to a legit transaction. There are some good deals to be had from guys who don't sell much on ebay but have some nice gear they want to cash in on because they've replaced it or are retiring. Know your seller!
