> DOT estimated a 15% cost increase to do a job in metric compared to using feet for the same job, which is the main reason metric was discontinued. But they are saying a 50% increase for the job and that's just for software. That must be for the build too.

Good old DOT, does not matter where we are, that is one government agency that often make me smile 🙂 , what a bunch! Brings me great confidence in standing underneath an overpass...

Anyway, we use what we prefer, to each its own.

Yeah, I was surprised when I heard the 15% figure, I think it was more a construction issue than a design issue. Those days federal funding was tied to meters and maybe the 15% cost was "inflated" to help lobby to drop the requirement.;-)

Above my pay grade, we just did them how they wanted them done.
