Upgrading batteries for an older TS

I use a Trimble 5603 which runs off of 12v?ÿ NiMh batteries via a Hirose cable.?ÿ ?ÿIs it possible to use Lithium batteries to do the same? (all other things being equal)

It is possible. And they last a lot longer than the NiMH's do. The?ÿ outfit I was with 2003-2011 had 5603s and the boss got busy on the internet and cobbled up some Li ion batteries. There were some issues with the internal circuitry - it was easy to blow an internal fuse in the things if you didn't hold your mouth just right while connecting to the charger.?ÿ But that was a technical issue with the Chinese source. As long as the voltage/current of the output is compatible its just electricity, all the same.?ÿ?ÿ
