Is it possible to turn a non robot 5600 into a robot using surveypro a recon data collector with bluetooth and a parini blue tooth?
thanks for your help
If the instrument isn't already a robotic model with servos/drives in it, probably not.
If you're just looking to use Bluetooth instead of the UHF radio on a robotic total station, you might start with this instructional video.
No, it's not mechanically capable to act as a robot.
I was not aware that there was such a thing as a non-robotic Trimble 5600, although it was always possible to use one in non-robotic mode?ÿ
I was thinking that it could not be used to search for prism or turn to a point where those commands were issued remotely. I did think that using the systems autolock feature it would?ÿ follow a prism till lock was lost. thanks for your help. This was a recent purchase and now I understand why it was so in expensive, the unit does not have an internal radio.
@norman-oklahoma I have a non-robotic, autolock 5603 circ 2002, used exclusively for 2 person construction layout. At the time of purchase, it could be upgraded to robotic by adding the radio. Likely that option isn't currently supported.
Also have a fully working robot 5603 cir 2006, just sitting as a backup... I bet it feels lonely.
@daneminceyahoocom Well... they've been sitting unused for years so haven't serviced them. I just turn them on every once in a while to see if they fire up. So far they always do.
Local place, now a Frontier Precision store, had people who could service them but those folks have moved on. Not sure where I'd go now.
You might want to try https://www.monsenengineering.com/ for Trimble sales & service in your area.?ÿ Great group of people.
