At the Northeast corner of S33, T14S, R14E, which is Old Ajo Way and high on the shoulder of Alvernon Way, there are two monuments for the section corner. One is a nice brass cap in a concrete slab by LS 4399, and the other is an aluminum cap in concrete in a handwell about one foot away. The problem is the aluminum cap in concrete is now leaning about 60 degrees. How that happened in a handwell in a hard to reach area is beyond me.
Does anyone have a tie between the two monuments before one went sideways? I had one years ago at Cella Barr but I've been told all the file folders and field books went to the dump ten years ago, which is a tragedy in itself.

Hope it helps. But I'm sure you knew this already 🙂
John was a dear friend for years, and one of the best surveyors in Tucson. Wonder if his son, JD, would be able to find a tie to the handwell in their records. I hadn't thought of that.
VC,
Well off topic. But, why did you give a Lat/Long that plots in the middle of Biscayne Bay? At least it does per Delorme.
😛
Bruce, I wish I could help, but that area is well outside my knowledge base:-(

Stephen, Maybe I don't understand why you ask, but I would think his avatar would be a hint as to why he puts those coordinates by his name.
Lat and Long is where we are located at the moment.
We live on our Sailboat 🙂
We still have our home in the Arizona, just haven't been there in 2 years....
You lucky sob! 😉
Have a great weekend!
It makes sense now.
I am a Dry Land Surveyor. Only been on a boat about 4 times in my life and those were all on ponds or lakes.
And one Ship and one sub. The Battleship Texas and the sub they have at Galveston in Seawolf Park, the USS Cavalla. Both stayed docked.
