TSC1 & 2, SC won't talk to 5700

I picked up a 5700 in a bundle with a ProXR receiver the other day. First thing I noticed is that it would only connect to my TSC1 running Asset Surveyor 5.27 and wouldn't connect to my TSC1 running Survey Controller 7.72 or my TSC2 running Survey Controller 12.50 and Terrasync 3.3. So I updated the 5700 firmware to 2.26 and still nothing. When I connect to it using the USB port on it and my TSC2, it asks me for the name of the driver for the 5700. I used Configuration Toolbox to set the 5700 up as a base station here at the office, replacing my NetRS. It worked good and I was able to get fixed positions on my 5800 and the data file gave me good a good OPUS solution. I was able to connect to it in TGO for data transfer. According to Configuration Toolbox Port 1 is set to 9600,n,8,1. I think that's the same as my 4700 which connects to everything. I'd like to be able to talk to the 5700 with my TSC2 so I can use it as a mobile base. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can connect to it with WinFlash check and see what all is enabled in it. You may have a 5700 that was marketed through Trimble Mapping and doesn't have Survey functionality enabled.

That makes sense. It was bundled with a ProXR. I was able to connect to it with my TSCE running Survey Pro. At least I can start it with that unit.

Thanks,

Tom

In case somebody needs this later, the solution to the problem was:
WinFlash - "Set fixed serial port settings" - uncheck all three boxes, click OK, do it again to be sure it took. The 5700 now talks to the TSC1 & TSC2.

I may have misunderstood you, but did you try to connect via serial port? To connect my 5700 to a TSC2 I use a serial cable that plugs into the 9 pin serial port on the bottom of the TSC2. I don't think you can connect using USB other than to a PC.

Yes, I connect using the serial port. It's working well now. I tried to find the driver for the USB Port but didn't have any luck.
