Since January 1 is coming quicking, I decided to check the configuration on my (2) Trimmark 3 radios. One is set at 12.5 kHz channel spacing, so I think that one will work as is. The other one set at 25.0 kHz channel spacing. According to the PacCrest ad in the October Prof Surveyor, the channel spacing will be required to be 12.5 kHz or you can broadcast at 19,200 bps with a 25.0 kHz channel spaced radio. So I set my 25.0 kHz radio to broadcast at 19,200 bps and tested my rover. The rover ran normally 2 miles from the base and seem to initialize just as quick. I am in a fairly rural area, maybe closer to a larger population area things may be different.

Am I correct will my conculsions?

I also have a Trimble HPB450 radio, but I haven't checked it out. Does anyone know if it will work will the new requlations?

Thanks in advance.

That is the same conclusion I have base on information from multiple sources. My SPS 851 base has been set to 19.2k for over 4 years. The Trimmark 3 radio, when I need the extra range, has been set for 9600. I haven't tried it at 19.2 yet.

You might want to check your license to see if you have both emissions on it. Mine has the first emission starting with 19k6 for the 25khz (the 19 is for the bandwidth transmitted not the data rate), and the other starts with 11k2 for the narrow band. The first one may be 20k, depending on the brand of equipment. At least that is the way I understand it. I could be totally wrong.
