Does anyone here know whether Trimbles scs900 data collection program connects or works
with other on-Trimble total stations, I know Trimble tries to exclusively keep there products to only work with other trimble products. There is no mention of whether it does or does not anywhere in there manual. I have heard that you could with some older non-trimble total stations but how about with some newer non-trimble robotics..?

The short answer is no, which leads to the question, what kind of Trimble salesman would sell you the software without the hardware?

I have the software but not the hardware. i use it to create the files for Trimble equipment for my clients. It helps if you can make the files for them and all they have to do is load them onto their equipment (and I didn't have to pay for it!).

How do you create design files in SCS? TBC HCE does that for the machines and the SCS. The SCS is cumbersome enough just to use for layout, I imagine it would get thrown if I had to try to calc something on it.
