Has anyone here been able to get a Yuma2 or a TSC3 activated on USCellular??ÿ I'm being told that because it's not on their list of supported devices that I'm just S.O.L.?ÿ I asked if it was on their list of Incompatible Devices or just not on their list of Supported Devices......I was assured that because that have the latter, they don't need the former.?ÿ ??ÿ The tech in the store tried really hard to figure it out, but the lady I spoke with in the activation department pretty much had the attitude that if it wasn't sold by them or found on their List then I was out of luck.
Tomorrow when my reservoir of patience has recovered I will make another run at them and see if they will actually look at the specs of the Sierra Wireless modem that is in the Yuma2 rather than just telling me NO!! when they can't find "Yuma2" on their hallowed list. Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone with a can-do attitude.

The salespeople will want to find the device listing in their directory so the SIM card can be assigned to that device. Since our?ÿsurvey controllers are not familiar to the Celluar vendors, it will not show on any list. What we have found the best way around this, is to purchase a WiFi Hotspot (w/ data plan) from your cellular provider. Then remove the SIM card from the HotSpot and place it in the survey controller.
That's part of the problem.?ÿ The yuma2 has a slot for a SIM card but USCellular and Verizon too for that matter don't use SIM cards with 3G.?ÿ Based on Trimble support docs they went to the trouble of making sure that the yuma2's MEID shows up on Verizon & AT&T but with most other carriers we're on our own.?ÿ
Is there Verizon in that area? I use my Yuma on Verizon, no card necessary. I believe the Yuma will work with Verizon (No sim card) and GSM (i.e. AT&T, US Cellular, etc) with a sim card.?ÿ
I would say they are being ridiculous. It should not matter what the device is. I have a couple of R10's, an iG8, two cell modems, TSC3 data collector, they all use sim cards and NONE of them are on their "list"

Yeah, I could run it on Verizon, I just didn't want to have another account to deal with.?ÿ I'll end up going that route before letting US Cellular sell me another hot spot unless they make an honest effort to support this device.?ÿ US Cellular is CDMA like Verizon in this area and the tech in the store was positive that they don't use a sim card with 3G service.?ÿ Hopefully I'll find a person willing to go the extra mile today.
