So we bought a series of new Wifi hotspots. The new ones broadcast on a WPA2-PSK security format. The TSC2 only has a setting for WPA-PSK security format. I am not really sure what any of that means. Our Ranger 3 collector will connect no problem to the WPA2-PSK broadcast as it is an option. But no luck with the TSC2. When I try to configure a new wireless connection WPA2-PSK is not even an option.

Has anyone dealt with this issue or have any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,

Ryan

You'll have to access your hotspots online (plug in their USB cable to your computer and navigate to the home page of your hotspots per the manufacturer/wireless company's info) where you can reconfigure their security protocol to WPA-PSK TKIP.

At least, that's what I had to do with my Verizon MiFi to get it to hook up with the TSC2. Works like a charm now. Hope this helps!

Edited to add: This [msg=179287]thread[/msg] has some more info on what to do.

Okay, that what I was thinking we would have to do. Problem is that those are used for numerous iPads as well. Can you reconfigure the hotspots to broadcast both WPA2 and WPA?

I'm not sure about Ipad stuff, but maybe you can have more that one SSID with different security protocols available from your hotspot. Hopefully someone else will weigh in. Maybe your carrier could walk you through it if it's possible.

Problem resolved - will broadcast both formats and iPads still work. I guess I'll have to go shovel snow now. Maybe dig out the truck.

Thanks
