I'm back using an S6 for the first time in a long while. Previously with this instrument and survey controller on the logger I could close survey controller and the instrument would go into standby (power light flashing)and when I fired up the logger again they would connect.
the instrument I've been issued with this time has access on the logger and when I close access the instrument switches off.
Any way of getting standby to work again?

Use the End Survey command in the Instrument Functions screen (just tap the instrument icon in the status window to get to this)and then tap Disconnect, then shut off the data collector. The instrument should be in standby - light on the power button should be flashing every second.

Thanks I wasn't aware of this.
I was looking for a way to avoid switching it off completely when moving it. (instrument goes beserk if you move it switched on).
It does connect quicker - as soon as the controller is switched on again it starts.
