Has or is anyone experiencing problems with the Trimble S3?
I am having major problems with it. One has already gone back and been exchanged.
I am using it with the prism then switch to reflectorless and end up with rogue readings up to 2 miles away!!

I've never had that problem we run 3 S3s best Trimble bang for the Buck IMHO. It does have the tendency to chase cars and vests though.

If you holler "SQUIRREL", does it start looking up in the trees? 🙂

I have had a few rouge readings of 1800 m, and have realized that compared to my S6 it is not as good in reflectorless mode, it uses a complete different technology to measure in , phase shift as opposed to time of flight, and have just adjusted work flow accordingly, by not measuring far distances or dark surfaces and then its good to go, the difficult shots I keep for the S6.

It cost half the price of an S6 so there must be some draw backs. Its a really good value for money robot and I don't have any regrets so far.
