Trimble R2 w/ Survey Controller

I figure I know the answer to this already, but I have a TSC2 controller that I ocassionally use with a Topcon GTP-3005W total station and I just sold a Trimble R6 that I used to use with it on occasion. I have a newer model R2 antenna at work that I can use anytime, but it has a TDC-600 that is normally used with it, however, we never use the unit. Anyway, I have tried to connect the R2 to my older model TSC2 collector for rare use on our local network and it doesn't recognize the receiver. Has anyone tried to connect an R2 antenna to a TSC2 with Survey Controller 12.5 and had success? I assume they're incompatible.
