Hi all,

I am a Cadastral Surveyor in Australia. More and more I am using Fast Static (that's what we call it in Oz... Rapid Static?) to do the bulk of my traversing. Here the state Government use this process (networked adjusted) to provide us with Coordinates which each of our Surveyors must adjust to, so it makes sense to use it aswell. I then use my Robotic to infill.

I have 2 Zephyr Antennas each connected to a Trimble 4700 Receiver. Up until now I have used Trimble Geo Office (TGO) with the wonderful Rinex workaround which I found here at surveyorconnect. TGO is getting long in the tooth and I cant even get it installed on my Windows 8 64 bit laptop. TBC is way out of the question, especially for the version needed to Post Process.

Does anyone have any suggestions on alternative (free, close to free) to TGO / TBC? I have downloaded RTKlib but I do not know anyone else who uses it and am getting nowhere fast. Can it Post Process Fast Static? If so could anyone please give me some pointers? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Other suggestion for Software would be great.

cheers

Search for Mark Silver's posts about Spectra Precision Survey Office (SPSO). I believe that it's TBC in different clothing, but much less expensive.

Hi.
I offer you to use http://www.carlsonsw.com/solutions/land-survey/surveygnss/&apos ;">Carlson SurveyGNSS.
It is very powerfull and professional GNSS-processing software.
Moreover, it is very inexpensive product.

hello mattb,

topcon tools v8.2.3 will allow you to process something like 3 or 4 vectors in demo mode. you may still find the install files somewhere on the webs. also XRapS 5 was a package for processing rapid static observations written by a Dr in Germany. in demo mode you could process 2 vectors in demo mode. once again you may find the install files somewhere on the webs.

note well, i have not read the licence agreements to see if you can use them for paid work in demo mode as i have only used them for educational purposes.

out of interest, what state are you in?

It may not meet the accuracy requirements you want but have you looked at AUSPOS?

AUSPOS needs a minimum of 1 hour of continuous data.

I have looked at Magnet Office as an option. Seems reasonable price wise. I would need to convert to Rinex before importing Trimble data but I need to do that to get the data into TGO these days anyway. I will definitely look at the Carlson option, I have used their field software in the past and always found it intuitive.

AUSPOS is great for Static data but not much use for fast static, as Conrad mentioned, it needs a minimum of 1 hour continuous.

SPSO is somewhat cheaper than TBC. I cant understand this... it seems to be TBC rebadged.

Hi Conrad,
I Live in good old South Australia.
