From time to time?ÿ when i am collecting data I get data that does not plot in the proper quadrant and I cannot figure out why. it seems that I ma properly oriented but apparently not.?ÿ
Any suggestions welcomed...
Is it an entire day's worth of?ÿwork that isn't right or some data is good and some is bad??ÿ Could it be the northings & eastings are getting switched upon either export from the DC or import into your CAD software??ÿ That would only be it if it's the entire data set being affected though.
Maybe you could show a screenshot so we can have a look? Does it happen to all the drawings or some part of it?
I've had that happen with TopSurv where I translated/rotated the job after locating a few shots then continued surveying.?ÿ It would update the coordinates of the occupied point but fail to account for the change in orientation.?ÿ It might also be possible that the DC or instrument is zeroing or forgetting to zero your horizontal angle.
When shots plot in the wrong quadrant, does your backsight still stake in the correct place??ÿ
Not doing anything fancy. i occupy a point, one i have set a random control with known values for the?ÿ survey at hand, and i backsight a known point. Field genius let's you see the backsight error and then you can set zero in the instrument. I always do this rather than carry an az. I have one setup where all the points come out in the wrong quadrant. The last time I collected this data I looked to be sure it was in the right quadrant, and it seems okay....oh well back to the drawing board...
