The SD1000 speaks RS232, so as long as the Viva has an RS232 serial port it should work fine. I use an Allegro CX with a TCRA1102+ via Parani BT modems without any trouble.

You may want to try the SD1000U-G01 and plug into usb port.

Yes the viva cs15 will talk to the 1100 via BT. I used it this way for 4 months while our 1200+ got knocked over by a truck and sent back to Switzerland for a rebuild. The internal onboard BT on the viva cs15 was good to 150m+! (that's with a 100m BT dongle attached to the 1100 sitting on the legs)

Not sure if smartworx will recognise the 1100 though. I used field genius. The demo for survCE also worked fine. Both way better than the onboard 1100 programs.

Hi,

Thanks for you input, have had CS15 connect using smartworks does not seen to support robot functions. Also connected 1100 using liscad survey live. Dose not have PS in there set up screen bit odd. Do you use FieldGenius all time, how do you find it. Is it pretty functional, looks little slow in there demo in regards to communication to jiga.

Thank Grant

Is the 1100 in geoCOMM mode when your using smartworx? (press 5 > 2 > 3 from main menu)

FG is good for detail and setout, but I find it slow for cadastral work (smartworx does what i need more efficiently - two face measurements, offsets, point averaging etc). The response time for target search, changing from RL to IR etc. is a bit slow on FG, but i think that is standard for all 3rd party programs. But measuring and storing points I have no issues with the speed of communication to the jigga.

Thanks Dan,

When trying to set up in smartworks followed viva manual, had 1100 in measure screen. viva manual is connecting via GSI mode. will play around later and see if I can use Geocomm mode, have download demo of FG will give that go.

See you have a few bike's there in photo I am vary keen MTB. All giants too. I live right next to the wombat where the wombat 100km(VIC)is.

How's work up there. Thing are slow for most down here but we have been really busy.

Ahh okay, I just tried to connect through smartworx, and with the TPS1100 selected the cable is the only comms option (we dont have the latest smartworx on CS15 though), so therefore the internal CS15 bluetooth is useless for smartworx.

Yeah I get out on the MTB every week or so. I mainly do adventure races, but a knee injury has stopped me from running for the short term so cant do AR's. Did you do the Womabat 100? I'm heading over to Canada for the TransRockies 7 day in a couple of months 🙂

Work was a little slow in the middle of last year, but we've been quite busy this year.
