Anyone have experience with these? http://www.topconpositioning.com/products/gps/accessories/re-s1

Our hipers can go 2 miles i believe but we have had problems with terrain stopping us short, in turn leapfrogging the base. Is it worth the money to get a repeater?

Opinions?

I have one. In a nutshell.... It is a 915+ radio in a box that can tx/rx+repeat that requires external power. It can be connected by serial cable - serial cable (both topcon serial) to be used with legacy and GB "antenna gps" units.

If you need more RTK range you may benefit from a network if avalible in your area.

Never dealt with Topcon variety but have used Pacific Crest usually cheaper and you can always find them on EBay

Assuming you have the HIPER LITE +, you will still be limited to 4000m (2.5 miles) unless you have purchased the unlimited range option.

Won't there be a ton of these radios coming up over the next year as the new narrowbanding rules take effect? Assuming that we all just up and change out our RTK radio systems. non-upgradable?

Narrow-banding should not apply to the 915 MHz radios as far as I know.
