Been doing some static with an older Topcon Hiper Plus and GB-500 receiver. I have downloaded countless TPS files from my receivers without fail. Today the voodoo started. I could not connect to the Hiper via USB or Serial. I restarted my pc, etc. Even brought the unit home concerned that my at work PC (govt) was balling it up. No dice. I am less familiar with Topcon units than Trimble so I was wondering if someone with more knowledge of the Hiper can show me the way of the Jedi..or something. I held the power for 10 secs etc restarting the unit and resting. I didn't want push to many buttons as I do not want to loose my files. At this point, I feel like its the cable, the unit or its operator. Again, it worked yesterday but today is a brand new day.:good:

Same cable as yesterday? I have to use two different cables for GR3 and Hiper but they are similar in looks.
whats your download program?... PCCDU?
Yep, same cables, same routine etc. Yea, I play the cable dance too but have been using the pc usb to usb on the Hiper. I will call my dealer for a new cable to rule that out. I am using Topcon link to download the TPS files and convert them to Rinex to process with Trimble Business Center. Its probably just pissed at me for being so two faced.
Download PCCDU from the hayes help web site and give it another try.

using 3 different pcs plus serial and usb
sometimes they connect sometimes they do not
I just said screw it and use the serial connection. I will eventually try updating the drivers, clearing the unit and or updating firmware. Just been lazy.

SUSPECT IT IS SOFTWARE OR DRIVER PROBLEM
Hmm, same problem on all pc's? I would download the latest drivers and move up from there.
Did that already
Did you update the firmware? Clear the nvram?
