I went by a used goods resale shop, and found one of these for 3.30, tax included.

Still had the tags on it.
And, has Forestry Suppliers logo, and all.
It's the 4' one, I'm gonna try it out today.
What do you commonly carry in one of these?
Outfitting it.. that is. Looking for ideas.
Thanks.

4' lathe, rebar, 12" stakes, hammer. In the outside pockets flagging and nails. We use ours on most projects. Boy you got a heck of a deal at that price.

I have an older version, but substantially the same. I pretty much only use it when I'm totin' lath, which I don't do much these days.

Back in the early '80s I made my own by cutting the legs off an old pair of Levis 501s, sewing them together and adding a strap. It looked kind of funny, but it worked.

You got a nice find! I don't really use a bag much these days, I throw everything in the basket of the ATV if I'm taking it, or I tie flagging to a nearby tree if I'm horseback. (I'll be back by ATV later if I'm horseback) Some of my guys have been using a lath bag, been carrying lath, hammer, wire stakes, and water.

You could go the other way, Jim, and make an interesting pair of orange and tan cargo pants.:)

Surveying horseback has got to be a blast. Very cool.

Turns out that I did NOT get to use it today. Went, set up my GPS base, and hit my first monument. (I had worked there before) and all the coords were on a funky rotation. It appears that I put theta in there 2x, while goofing with my Locus units, and then mid stream, changing to the Topcon RTK system. That will take me a bit of time to sort out fully.

My wife made my first golf bag out of a leg of Levi's in the 70s.

Nope. Never been in prison, either.
