Too much advertising

When I go to my primary email page it offers focused messages and other messages. ?ÿStill don't know how the computer separates those two categories. ?ÿOn the "other" page the very first message listed is actually an advertisement. ?ÿI never click on those, simply dump them in the trash. ?ÿEvery category of vendor from magic pills to computer systems.

Today, the advertisement was for a land surveying company about 180 miles from here but still in Kansas.

Sorry, guys. ?ÿI did not open it.

Tried to keep business, family and friends, and the habitual reading email address separate for a long time along with an obscure address for the expected junk mail for a long time and gradually the junk has crept into every address.

I spend more time sending email to the trash and spam folders than attending to emails of importance.

After looking at the various models of hats from recent topic, Yahoo and Chrome have the same hat ad every time I open a page.

Am not spending a monthly fee or annual fee for email service to make the ads go away.

Thanks to Wendell for making the ads that come with this site topic related.

I'm amazed at the amount of time and energy spent on mining data from our personal interweb presence.?ÿ The other day I looked up on the 'puter a phone number for the local auto supply.?ÿ The 'ad' section of my email has been inundated since then with auto parts.?ÿ And I've received half a dozen unsolicited emails announcing all the really good deals I can get from on-line parts houses.?ÿ

If those gear headed software developers would spend that much time on pertinent worldly issues (as opposed to figuring out what I look at online) we could probably cure cancer, global warming and pay off the national debt.?ÿ

But sadly there is no money in noble humanitarian progress...

Isn't it amazing when you search for a "domahicky" that every freakin advertisement on every web page now knows you are looking for the "domahicky"?

For those of us who use ad blocking browsers, cruising the internet is considerably more peaceful on the old eyeballs. I don't even get very much spam email either. Can't explain that one. Mostly advertising from places I do online shopping.

You mean there are ads on those web pages? My eyes are trained to see only what I was looking for.?ÿ

I dont understand how advertising pays off.?ÿ Who actually pay attention to them??ÿ However, if that keeps things free to read, that's ok.

I have two mail servers. Both work ok. I like to clear cache, history and cookies on the browser frequently. But some emails are trublesome because they do not Unsubscribe. Some do but after a few months start showing up again. These are emails that I did happen to sign on with but no longer want. I do have ad block that works well.

That one hasn't shown up on the pages I've been looking at.
