Hello, first time poster, long time lurker.
I have an old legacy Ashtech Base and Rover that has served well. About six months ago I bought a Topcon Network Rover. The old Ashtech Zxtreme equipment has been out once or twice since then, and the network rover has pretty much taken over. Running solo, I can't run more than one system at a time. I mostly work in urban areas, so cell coverage is not a problem. I have gone back and forth on the idea of buying a narrowband radio for the old equipment several times, and I am still on the fence. Can still use the old equipment for OPUS solutions, and then go robotic if cell service is not available. Are you all going to spend money on a new radio for older equipment? What do you think? Thanks.

I would not upgrade a Z extreme. You 'd probably be better off selling the Z extreme, and putting that money and the radio money towards a base that can operate with your newer rover, for when you are out of the city.

I agree, the cost for new radios isn’t much different than another network rover. Complete GNSS RTK Network rovers with new Narrow band radios built in are less than 10K now. new radios base+ rover will run almost 7K.
