To an unknown Surveyor

Thanks.
Working on a residential survey today and had to pro-rate .68' out of a line. The iron in question was at the intersection of three fences and a power pole with a ground rod, dead batteries are NOT the only thing that will cause uncontrollable screaming.
Did the calc, went to re-dig for the iron (to avoid the dreaded pincushion) and...viola! The old iron as previously and properly pro-rated.

WHAT?!?! THERE'S NO CAP OR 80 YEAR OLD TAG IDENTIFYING IT!!! I'M AGHAST!!

(sorry JB... That's from an LS in one non-capping/tagging state to another)

I know what you mean. There was a surveyor here who used both orange and yellow flagging (not flourescent) on his pins. It sure was nice to dig a hole and find both colors when following him (Thanks Tren).

And I have to cap/tag in all five states in which I am registered. BOO HOO!:-$
Though Texas was the last to require caps/tags.
