It depends on which Springfield.?ÿ He could go east to Springfield, Arkansas then north to Springfield, Missouri, then northeast to Springfield, Illinois before going north-northeast to Springfield, Wisconsin.

35 states have a?ÿSpringfield?ÿor a close cousin; but the following states are?ÿSpringfield-deficient: Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota*,?ÿOklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, Washington, Wyoming

Iowa once had a Springfield.?ÿ Nothing left but the cemetery that carries the name.

My home town was to be named Springfield but the other one existed so the commissioners had to pick another name.

I live in New Jersey. I sometimes look off into the woods behind my house with all the pine trees, poison ivy, poison oak, poison this, poison that ,stickerbushes?ÿ tics and other critters and wonder how the heck people in the 17th and 18th century cut and surveyed their way through this mess.

?ÿ

Now, I just say, "maybe we can burn a couple points on the other side of the mess and get in that way."

Dang, Bill.  Insomnia?  Just getting in?  I thought I was the only one in CDT who posted at 2:17 a.m.

I thought there had once been a Springfield near Leavenworth, Kansas.  Could have sworn I saw a  road sign over 40 years pointing towards Springfield.  Turns out it was Springdale.

There was a Springfield, Kansas founded in 1885 in the southwestern corner of the State about 12 miles north of Liberal in Seward County.  It, too, has stopped being a dot on road maps.  An aerial view at the reported location, which is the intersection of Highway 160 and Highway 83, shows nothing but what might be a rest area nestled between center pivot irrigation systems.

We have lots of Springfields out here in the Mountain West!

I only have one though (highly "sporterized")

I laid down to read about 7:30 and drifted off I don't know when.  Woke up after 1 and couldn't get back to sleep for a while. Eventually did sleep some more. Seems to happen a lot these days even without the early start.

"much to the chagrin of many, I'm sure, until Wendell boots me off " - yeah - I can see you getting some time outs....

Hell I already spent 3 years in time out while in Parochial School. ?????ÿ
