Finishing up a survey for an old client. He is one client that is well versed in land law. He had been to the State Supreme Court twice for two different property suits, his side won both times. One incident he was telling me about was a O&G lease on the property I'm surveying. The lease ran out and he tried to enforce the terms, went to court and lost. Makes me wonder about some of them I've signed.?ÿ
Anyway, I'm showing him the property/fence issues with the tract he wants to sell, he looks at it all and says, create a warranty deed for this and then I'll do a quit claim deed for the parcel with the fence line "overlap". It was what I wanted to do, however, knowing all he's gone through I thought he may try and claim the area he has fenced into the adjoiner by possession. He wasn't going to go there. Sounds like he's been there done that and had enough of it.?ÿ
One of my favorite memories of a client came from 45+ years ago.?ÿ We were surveying a parcel in the foothills of North Georgia that was all uphill it seemed like.?ÿ August, temperatures in the 90s, and briers everywhere.?ÿ We had just hacked our way to a corner and stopped to catch our breath.?ÿ Up drives the old man who was the client with an ice chest full of COLD Coca Colas.?ÿ It may not match the relief of stress that some have experienced, but for a young, hot, tired, instrument man it sure made MY day.

@andy-bruner There's been a few times I've had to turn down a cold adult beverage on a hot day like that!
