Anyone know of any extra hot-keys/shortcuts for a Survey Pro - TDS Ranger that locks the keypad? How about any other Windows CE shortcuts associated with the keypad in general for that matter?
Instrument man was typing away when the keypad froze on him, and stopped working. Touch-screen still works, but entering a value into an entry field results in a conflict sound. I'm guessing ole' quick fingers hit something, unknown hot-key/shortcut, locking out the keypad.
Any ideas?
I know plenty for Trimble access on a tsc2, some of them may be generic, let me know if you think so and I will post.

Sounds like you're using the early model Ranger 200 that is running the Windows CE and perhaps SP 4.x.
(however, not SP 4.11 or greater because some genius has broken more functions of the Survey Pro software than enhancements...Keyboard shortcuts is one them... If it were up to me, I would FIRE them all and have that software fixed by someone who knows what they're doing. I'll leave that "rant" for another time)
I have been using the Ranger 500 with Windows Mobile and SP 4.11 and 5.1.1 and have forgotten many of the "short-cuts". Hint, on the "function-buttons" (the ones tapped with the stylus) one of the letters has an underscore, i.e. [Shot] has an underscore on the (S)hot and [Store] has an underscore on the Sto(r)e... a single depress on the keyboards respective letter will perform the action.
Anyway..I had frequently encountered the symptoms you describe on the Range 200. I don't recall the key-combinations that causes this just now, however, it is a common combination and I think the [ctrl] key depressed concurrently with some other key locks the keyboard. I believe powering the device off and on resolved it. Not a device boot, just a quick off then on.

Can anyone help me find a list of All the keyboard shortcuts for the ranger 200?
The tab key takes you to some of the commands which can then be activated by the enter key; and some commands will activate via the underlined letters.
But there are some options that I cant get to. for example, switching between BS direction and BS point in the backsight setup menu, and the OK buttojn at the top of the check bs screen
The touch screen on mine is starting to go. Sometimes the top half has less sensitivity than the bottom half, and sometimes it starts clicking all by itself, and I have to turn off the touch screen.
Cleaning the edges of the screen used to help, but not much anymore.

I found these short cuts here for access on a tsc2
My screen packed up a week ago, I am actually finding the keyboard quite usable and maybe even faster some times, but miss not being able to select stuff off the map. Also can't seem to find a short cut to change a points design elevation.
Haven't tried staking a road yet though with key board only.
I am getting a new tsc3 with an r4 rover to double up my net rover, so will get the screen repaired then. Cost is about $1200
