final update

After fixing the black screen of death I still experienced weird mouse problems. David O'Connor at Trimble had me update DirectX and that finally got things working correctly.

David has been a great resource at Trimble for a long time. Can't thank him enough for all the help he has given me over the years. I wish Trimble didn't make it so hard to get to him. I had to work through my local Trimble rep rather than direct to David. Back in the old GPSurvey days I could talk with him on the phone.

I'll second that. I've had several conversations with him over the last dozen years or so, and he's been very helpful. Glad to hear that he's still on the team.
