Many years ago I had the privilege to attend a 4 State Conference...OK, MO, KS, and AR. There was an o'Limpics type course laid out...with a calibrated gait, yours truly won THE GOLD for Backwards Pacing. There was quite a lot of cold beverage encouragement involved. I remember a fellow from MO won Gold for 'normal' pacing...
Do any of y'all remember this conference...or did I dream it all??
Wait...I still wear my GOLD MEDAL every day.

So, who won the gold for most accurate measurement of a house by pacing? Were they allowed to compete in the Chaining With a Screwdriver events?

You're lucky that TX was not invited to attend. They do everything Azz backwards with perfection so it would have been a cinch for a Tx surveyor.
My understanding is that the first surveyor's meeting started during a keg party by a lake when placing the horseshoe stakes.

Is that what's used down there? I understand that in Colorado it's chaining with a banjo.

It's understood that the Special Olympics for Surveyors uses Special Equipment.
