A long long time ago, when I was a trainee land surveyor, we did a lot of industrial surveying. At the Sidmar (now Arcelor Mittal) steel factory near Ghent we had daily 2 crews performing all kinds of measurements. One day my chief took some pics when we were busy around the blast furnace, the cowpers (heat exchangers) had to be be replaced and we had to sign off the axis.

We were at an elevation of +30m. above the ground, it was a real adventure to get there with the T2 and climbing using the caged ladders. I couldn't enjoy the heights, but the view was fantastic.

Some pictures of a small job I did last week, our environment division needed some water levels at the golf court at De Haan at the coast. I arrived at 7.30 in the morning, a little too late for the sunrise ...

I was not the first, one was already practicing ... but I headed to the ponds

to take some levels

Christof.

Nice post!

“We were at an elevation of +30m. above the ground”:-|

With me,

A long, long time ago as well, I visited the Lehigh Portland Cement’s plant in Tampa, Florida. This was a field trip required for graduation from college.

The kiln was 40m above the ground with a “see thru” walkway underneath. We walked along the walkway under the kiln to the other side (90m) where thankfully there were stairs to descend. I was freaking out over the height! Strangely, I love to fly but am fearful of heights.

Have a great week!

That is a golf court. They don't have golf courses. I rather like the term they use.
