I am running TDS Survey Pro 4.5.2 on my Ranger 500X, and TDS Survey Pro 4.7.1 on my 300X.

I just uploaded the latest Geoid12A into the 300X. It shows up and I was able to select it for a dummy job. I have been told that Geoid12A won't work with 4.5.2, so I am considering upgrading the 500X to 4.7.1, however, there are a few minor differences that I don't want to loose if they are not available in 4.7.1.

The only two differences I have seen between the two versions, that I have noticed yet, are when I am running my robot. On the right side of the sideshot screen, the search, qlock, lock, stop, and turn to... buttons do not have " quick lock" options. When the instrument finds the prism, it will show the angles and distances, and will go into standby mode. I have to hit the lock button to start the tracking procedure.

By quick lock, I mean, on my 500X, I can hit the Q key, and it will automatically initiate the qlock option, and once the robot finds the prism it will automatically start tracking the prism.

Is there a setting I am missing on the newer version? I would like to have the "quick key" option, and also have the instrument start the tracking on it's own.

I only have one robot, so, the robot is acting differently when used with the two different collectors.

Thanks in advance.

Jimmy

We have the quick search feature on our DC. Sometimes in the setting modes for the robot on the DC, you have to look for the menu that enables the quick search function in the DC. Thats been my experience. We run Topcon QS robot with TDS and ranger

G12A will work. Don't have time to elaborate right now.

I don't have specific help for ya, but I remember when I switched from the old RCS 1000 (Leica) to the SurveyPro on a Ranger, there were definitely robot behaviour changes. But alas it was my own personal adjustment of my own expectations that had to happen in the end. And we have lived happily ever after... So far.

Change, ugh.
