I am trying to figure grades for DI boxes that are on a road in a vertical curve. I have set up an alignment in my collector. I am wondering how I can tell the collector to show me the grade of the alignment at a certain station.
Seems like this should be simple to do, but I appear to be having one of those mornings.
.
Use the parabolic curve layout function under the curve menu.
First question
Did you define the vertical alignment? Did you define the cross sections? Then create a road. Once you do that it should spit out everything for you
Don't have my Nomad in front of me, but I believe it can be done ion the cogo menu. I know you can create control points from stations and offsets and it will give a a point with NEZ. As soon as I get to my recon/nomad I'll see what the sequence is.

Stake out offset. You will need to set the instrument to manual if not connected to instrument, and set up a fake back sight. Then put in station and offset you want t and compute, it will out put the angle, distance and elevation of point needed. Jp
I love seeing the different ways we all get to the same end.
Thanks Guys!
First question
I put it in as an alignment only...did not set up a road file. Therefore, I have no cross sections to work with.

Thanks JP, I recall doing it with out being in manual mode. I might be offest stake in cogo or offset menu.

Yes, I still have an old hp 95 with survey pro loaded and it had a program called grade book that worked real good for checking that your alignments fit with the plan set. I don't see that program in the newer data collectors. Jp
