Does anyone else feel as though Survey Pro 5 is much slower to run that version 3 or 4?

I have it running on 3 Ranger 3's and a 2 Ranger X's each with an S6 or a Focus 30

When i ran a 5600 with survey pro 3, it seemed as though it was much faster

Is there more "bloat" in the software? I really feel its something because all of them are slow to store measurements.

Which version are you running. In 5.1 and I think 5.2 there was an issue with slowdowns due to resection and vrs base points. The current version 5.4 seems fine to me and we have jobs with over 10000 points in them.

I have 2 on 5.1, 1 on 5.2, and 2 on 5.4.

Could be for the gps part. But usually my job files are about 300-500 points on average. Occasionally some being as low as 100 and as high as 2000. The angles and distance display and update instantaneously because of track mode. But the delay is when I press enter to store point. Another party chief Told me that when using one of them after about 400 shots, the thing would take about 10 seconds to store. I was a bit taken aback when I heard that because that was ridiculous. I told him to reboot and that seemed to remove that delay in that case. Maybe I need to reboot the data collector between jobs?

I would upgrade to 5.4 on all it should be free. I don't think the collector would be the issue, we have had 5.4 on Nomads and T41s and they run it quickly. I have noticed that if you are using quick codes once you get to 50 points or so you have to back out to the survey menu.

I might be wrong, but I think you can only upgrade if you are still under warranty or extended warranty.

You are correct the major updates like 5.3 to 5.4 you need the warranty minor updates like 5.4.1 to 5.4.2 you do not sorry for my confusion.

Spectra Support told me to reinstall Survey Pro(exactly what i expected)

i will probably do it this week. Ill post my results.
