This morning when I was looking for some information on Helmert corrections, the Google sent me to a Loyal rant in 2011. I should have known enough to just ask the question here.

Loyal,
it was Jan 8, 2011. It was the neatest description I've seen
of listing the steps and the thought process. I've saved it as an example of how to do it.
