In reference to the user coordinate system transformation screen of SurvCE, it appears that the WGS84 ellipsoid is by default the reference.

Coordinate transformation supposedly requires two ellipsoids - reference and target. If, for example, I wish to perform transformation from WGS84 to Clarke1866 using the 7 parameter values as shown above, the system provides no information as to what reference and target ellipsoids I am dealing with.

Did I miss something?

Thank you.

Regards.

Leica GeoOffice provides better transformation dialogue box. SurvCE and Fieldgenius are somehow using the WGS84 as reference ellipsoid and you have no way of controlling it except the target ellipsoid.

Hmmm, without being able to test it, I would suspect that in the SurvCE dialog, you set the datum/ellipsoid to be the other one (not WGS84) and give the transformation parameters to transformation from it to WGS84, but yeah, that's some pretty wild guessing I'm doing. Is there any doc that explains the dialog?

Huh. A Google search gave results in Russian, Slovakian, and Chinese.

Yes, that is exactly what I did as I presumed that the reference ellipsoid is WGS84. Philippines is using the Clarke1866 ellipsoid and so is specified in the SurvCE/Fieldgenius dialog in my case.

Yes, you're right, I am also guessing here.
