About how long of a static GPS session would be required to get data from every SV all the way across the sky?

By the plots it appears that the SV's only cross the sky above a site once a day even though the orbits are about 12 hrs. So I suppose if you want them all gotta leave the station going for 24 hrs or so. Set it up today and pick it up about the same time tomorrow. Won't really work so well. I do leave them going overnight sometimes.

Leon,

What you will "see," is highly dependent on WHERE you are, and WHEN you are there (and of course how CLEAR your sky view is).

I have done quite a few 24+ hour observations, and at least one that was well over 48 hours. Lots of birds, lots of data, lots of "options."

My RTK base station is currently configured to collect @ 5 second epochs, and the PCMCIA cards that I use are only 32mb, so I am limited to about 105 hours (over 4 days). I could reconfigure it to 15 or 30 second epochs and stretch that quite a bit, but I don't really foresee the need for much more than a 24 hour session.
